Explore the dream state.
Explore your everyday mind.
Is it really that different?
In dreaming thoughts, emotions and sensations arise and fall. The un-enlightened, everyday mind has thoughts, emotions and sensations. What makes you choose one as being real over the other? Why can you let one go but hold to the other?
If your everyday mind is essentially dreaming most of the time can you ever be said to be truly awake?
Being awake, truly awake is to have an unmediated awareness of the moment you are having, not thoughts, stories or strategies about it.
Dying isn’t sad, it’s never having really lived, never really been awake… that’s sad.
An interesting addendum to the above turned up this morning…
Isn’t life a wonderful mystery?
